Warm fall days

The weather has been great the past couple of days and we have got a few things done. The house wrap is complete and we started some wire. Amazing as it sounds, the power company showed up this week. I still have hope of having power before the time change. On a negative note it looks like it will be mid-November before the doors and windows get here.

New Lowe's in Trinidad

We started the house wrap tonight. It makes the house look like a giant Lowe's advertisement. We were doing good until the wind started howling. We finally had to call it a night. We are expecting a big storm tonight so we may not finish this until the weekend.
The girls really enjoy helping.

Clear Skies

The snow and rain seemed to have cleared the area so we can hopefully get back to work this evening. Melissa got in touch with the power company today and I believe they had forgotten us. We are now on their list for next week so hopefully we will have power before the end of the month. Say a prayer!
The moon looked cool when I got to work this morning so I shot a few pictures. Enjoy!

Snow! Already!

Well, we're not real thrilled to get the earliest snowfall in recent memory this year. We got a huge rain on Saturday (these pictures were taken on Sunday but our internet was out until tonight). We got some work done on Monday before it decided to snow all day Tuesday. I went down and finished a couple more walls inside tonight but we need to get the roof done soon. I think we should be able to have it by Sunday if the snow goes away.

Shingles are started

We started getting the Shingles on this week. Melissa, her dad, dad, Uncle George and i have all spent time up on the roof the last couple of nights. We have almost half of the roof done and will try to finish the big side tomorrow evening. We won't be able to finish the front until we build the front porch completely but at least the high parts will be complete. A guy I work with lent us an air nailer for the shingles. It is great and really speeds things up. Melissa's dad has had to fix it a couple of times when I get nails stuck in it. It is great to have a mechanic on the scene.
We passed our electrical inspection in the garage today also. We may get power one of these years.

House update

We got quite a bit done again this weekend. The weather wasn't the greatest but that didn't stop us from getting the rest of the sheathing on the walls and starting on the front porch. Melissa has the windows ready to order on Tuesday. She is now moving her planning to the inside. Kitchen and Fireplace. It is great to be getting to these steps that we have talked about for so long.
On another note, dad and I had one of our best calls ever last night. Despite Trinidad losing 34-7. Everyone loved the job we did. We were on TV and the radio last night so it was extra special.
This week we hope to finish the front porch and start the shingles. We are borrowing a nail gun from a guy I work with so that should speed the process a bit.
