12 Great Years
No, that is not how long we've been working on the house. It has been 12 wonderful years of marriage to an amazing woman and mother.
Melissa wanted water for our anniversary and a day early she got it. We've been so excited that the hose has been going on one project or another all weekend.
I wanted a tree, or many trees, and I got my wish also. Melissa and the girls got me a great tree which Mara and I planted on Friday.
Mom, dad and I worked on the rock on the front of the house and unfortunately ran out mortar. We were making good progress before that. Mom was giving the orders and it is looking good so far. We also are ready for our plumbing and framing inspections this week. With some luck we will be sheet rocking by next weekend. Progress is good!

House Work
We've been busy for the past week working on two of the three porches. We still have plenty to do to each of them. Stairs, rails and such. It's all progress. The plumbing is close to done so another inspection is coming soon. We are getting there!
Mother's Day
We spent the day at the lake for Mother's Day again this year. We had a picnic and took a walk. The girls had fun throwing sticks into the water. It was a great time.

Must be summer
It feels like summer. We have baseball and softball tournaments this weekend. The weather is warm (for now). And best of all is the grill is fired up and cooking. Smores anyone?

Dancing Girl
Our little dancer was at it again. She had her second recital on Sunday. It was a really good show. Mara was in two numbers, one with a group and the other solo. She was the youngest soloist in the show at five years old.
I don't know that I could get out on stage in front of around 400 people and perform solo but she did great.
The teacher told Myka that she can start this summer even though she is only two. It looks like we will have a pair of dancing girls soon.

Electrical Rough in 99% Done!
Yes it has been forever, but I finally feel like we are seeing some light on the horizon. Jess came down and we hit it hard today. He got the house powered up so no more extension cords running from the garage. After over a mile of wire we hopefully will be able to get past the first inspection and move forward.
Also, my last class is Wednesday night. I will give them their finals and be done with teaching until fall. I now get to take a class in May. Should be fun.
The girls helped Melissa's dad plant his garden the other day. They had fun. Mara held a worm so she thought that was pretty cool.
