In an attempt to make mom happy I will put up this short post before work this morning. These are pictures from Mara's bowling party a few weeks ago.Everything seems to be moving along with the new house. The plumbing is almost done, the electrical will be close after this weekend. We have a huge direct buy order ready to go with all of our bath room fixtures/tubs/toilets and such.
Sorry, that's all for now, i'm late for work.

Blog Posting in 09
Sorry the posts haven't been coming as fast as they were in 2008. I am relieved to see I'm not the only one low on posts in the new year. We've been so busy that this just seems to get left out.
Just to update everything real quick. The house is progressing, slowly. We are working on electrical and plumbing whenever we can. Once we get past these stages thing should speed up again. Our electrician is awesome, not sure if I am allowed to say who it is so I will just say that he has been a God send. The electrical looks great and the rough in seems to be about 80% done. We went from having a tiny little breaker box with six circuits at our old house to a huge service in our new one. I can't wait to get it powered up and starting hitting light switches instead of pulling chords in from the garage.
The plumbing is slower. My father in law is real good at it but we seem to be having trouble getting any momentum. I hope tomorrow changes that. Maybe I'll get inspired and let you know tomorrow.
The porches and other things are moving along.
Work is going well, the class I'm teaching has been much better the past few weeks and work has been a lot of fun. Busy but fun.
The girls are doing well, Myka has been sleeping better. They both have been fighting colds but we hope health is near. Mara had two birthday parties and still has one more planned for next week.
Melissa is doing well also. She is starting to show a little already. It makes it feel very real. We can't wait to find out the sex of the baby.
I guess that is all for now.

Busy little girls
The girls have been working hard around the house also. They saw Dad and I digging so they decided to help out. Mara also decided to pick up one of my books and study a little.

Happy Birthday Grandma!
Well Mom, another year. How about a special gift this year!
We found out, Christmas morning actually, that Melissa is expecting again. We got our first ultrasound on Tuesday and all is well.
I've wanted to tell the world on the "blog" and in "facebook" for awhile now but we decided to hold off. We would have held things off a little while longer but people were starting to figure it out when Melissa had been sick for about a month straight.
She is due on September 2nd - I figure she'll hit "labor day". It only makes sense. Mara's birthday is Valentines day, Myka's is Thanksgiving, my birthday is Memorial day and Melissa was due on April Fools day but fooled her folks by showing up three weeks early.
So, keep up in your prayers that the baby and mama will both stay healthy.
Oh Yeah - Happy B-Day mom.

A new era of responsibility
President Obama said in his inaugural speech that this is a “new era of responsibility”. That we Americans need to be responsible, but I wonder, how responsible is in that in this time of war and financial crisis, that one of the first things he does is send millions of our tax dollars to fund the murder of babies around the world.
He said, “To the people of poor nations, we pledge to work alongside you to make your farms flourish and let clean waters flow; to nourish starved bodies and feed hungry minds.” – no mention of paying to murder their children.
He talked of America being “a friend of each nation and every man, woman, and child who seeks a future of peace and dignity” – how does this not apply to babies?
He said that “a parent's willingness to nurture a child” is one of the things that “decides our fate” as a nation.
He warns others about “slaughtering innocents” but signs a law that will send our tax dollars to do just that.
You may say that this funding does not kill babies, just the unborn fetus. That is bunk. We all need to get past this little lie the killers push to make themselves feel better and admit that these are human children. As a parent I know that from the moment we found out Melissa was expecting the girls we knew there was a human life in there. No doubts in our minds.
I agree with almost everything President Obama said in his speech, but I guess these words don’t count for the innocent unborn – “The time has come to reaffirm our enduring spirit; to choose our better history; to carry forward that precious gift, that noble idea, passed on from generation to generation: the God-given promise that all are equal, all are free and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness.”
Keep praying for America in our “new era of responsibility”.

House Progress
As promised, I thought I would give a quick progress update. Despite another snowstorm and a family wide bout of the flu we are still moving along.
The electrical is progressing great, the stairs are 98% done and the stucco should be finished this week.Melissa headed back to school this week. Mara was home sick but Myka was ready to go.
